San Diego Jury Awards $17.3 Million to Man Injured in 2012 Escondido Crash
VISTA – The San Diego Union Tribune reported a north county jury awarded more than $17.3 million to a man who suffered serious facial injuries and a concussion in a chain reaction crash on southbound Interstate 15 on November 3, 2012. The plaintiff was a doctoral student and filmmaker from San Marcos, driving a 2004 Toyota Solara, the third of five stopped vehicles that were plowed into by a NuC02 freightliner truck. Attorneys for the soda carbonation company truck admitted liability but tried to argue that the victim’s injuries were not as extensive as he claimed. The Vista Superior Court jury reached the verdict Wednesday.
