$26 Million Settlement Reached Following 2009 SUV Rollover Crash
In 2009, Scott Minear, of Marrietta Georgia, was driving a Jeep Cherokee with three friends to Glacier National Park when the vehicle was involved in a rollover accident and flipped several times. Minear was junior at the University of Georgia and part of a group of 17 Innovator missionaries who arrived at Yellowstone Park on Memorial Day Weekend to minister to resort visitors for 10 weeks. In June 2015, a judge ruled that the driver was acting within the course and scope of his association with the mission group at the time of the accident. Within several days, insurers for the Southern Baptist Convention agreed to pay Minear full coverage policy limits of $26 million. News Source: Centre Daily
